New Opportunities for Aspiring Swimmers: 2024 Program Placement Assessment Day
As Santa Clara Artistic Swimming celebrates this historic Olympic achievement, the club remains committed to developing the next generation of champions. To this end, the club is hosting its 2024 Program Placement Assessment Day on August 17, 2024, at Del Mar Highschool 1224 Del Mar Ave, San Jose, CA 95128. The event will run from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with 20-minute slots available for participants.
What to Expect: Santa Clara’s dedicated coaches will assess your child’s flexibility, extension, swimming ability, and athleticism, ensuring every swimmer receives personalized guidance. This assessment is open to all boys and girls aged 6-10 who dream of making a splash in the world of artistic swimming. Special consideration will be given to 11- and 12-year-olds with a background in supporting sports such as rhythmic gymnastics, gymnastics, ballet, ice skating, or swimming.
Important Details:
- All participants must be water-safe and comfortable in the deep end of the pool.
- Participants should arrive in their bathing suits with hair up. Face masks are optional.
- Required items include a swimming cap, goggles, nose clip, yoga mat, and towel. Please bring a refillable water bottle, as no food or snacks are allowed on deck for safety reasons.
- The assessment will focus on flexibility, extension, swimming ability, athleticism, maturity, and overall readiness for the program.
- Spaces within the program are limited. Each participant will receive an email with their program recommendation between August 21-24. Those on the waiting list will be contacted as spaces become available.
